Various Part of Brain

The human brain consists of many parts; these parts are the ones that give the signal to different body parts. Some part is used to memorise, and others for body function. These parts of the brain are attached and work according to their jobs. Cerebral Cortex

It is one of the parts of the brain which make you unique from others. It has many functions, like controlling the consciousness of the body. It contributes to thinking; it provides assistance to you to think in a high order. Imagination and information processing are also the jobs of the cerebral cortex. This part of the brain is what you see when you look at the brain. It is the part that is most external and has four lobes. To learn about the four lobes in detail, read the lower section.

Four Lobes

The cerebral cortex has four sections. These sections are called as the lobes. The frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, and temporal lobe are the part o with different functions, ranging from reasoning and memory to auditory and visual perception. To know the features of the four lobes in detail, read the lower section.

Parietal Lobe

The lobe is located in the middle area of the brain behind the frontal lobe. It is mainly cause for processing tactile sensory data, such as pressure, touch, and even pain. The portion of the parietal lobe is known as the somatosensory cortex. It is located behind the central sulcus and is the most essential processing of the body’s senses.

Temporal Lobe

This lobe is located in the bottom area of the brain, next to the temples of the ears. You know where it is located? Lobe is also the location of the primary auditory cortex, which is the crucial sound and frequencies. A topographical map of the cochlea, a small inner ear organ, is located in this cortex. What is second cortex? It is the area that is responsible for the understanding of spoken or written human language. If the temporal lobe is harmed, it can lead to problems of memory loss, discrimination and speech comprehension.

Occipital Lobe

Is mainly found at the back of the brain and is associated with decoding visual stimuli and details. The primary visual cortex obtains and decodes the data from the retinas. The damage in this lobe can create a big issues in the visuals and colour identification, even in recognising the words.

The Brain Stem

The brainstem is an area that is located in the base of the brain and contains structures vital for involuntary roles such as heartbeat and breathing. It consists of the midbrain, pons and medulla, to learn more about these, read the lower section.

Midbrain

The mid is deemed the smallest part of the region of the brain. It works as the relay station for the auditory and visual systems. It also controls many crucial functions, such as the visual and auditory systems of the brain, which is crucial for the human body. It also takes part in the movement of the eye. The portion of the midbrain is called the nucleus, and the substantia nigra is involved in the control of the body movement. You konw what the pigmented substania nigra contain? There are many dopamine-producing neurones in it.

Medulla

The medulla is the part of the brain that is located above the spinal cord in the lower part of the brain stem. It mainly controls many vital automation functions, such as the heart rate, breathing and blood pressure.

Pons

Pons is the bridge. It works as the connector of cerebral cortex to the medulla and the cerebellum and serves vital functions. It plays a role in several autonomic processes, such as stimulating breathing and controlling the sleep cycle.

Hypothalamus

It is the grouping of nuclei that lie along the brain. They help to connect many regions of the brain and are responsible for controlling hunger.

Amygdala

It is a cluster of the brain close to the base of the brain. It is involved in emotion, memory and the body’s fighting response.

The Thalamus

Located above the brainstem, the processes and transmits movement and sensory information.

Hippocampus

It is a structure located in the temporal lobe. It helps for memory and learning and is considered to be part of the limbic system.
